About: Site Updates

Explanation:

If you want to find new material on my website every so often but don't want to have to sift through the same old material over and over again, this is just the page for you. I won't include minor edits, however. The updates are listed in reverse chronological order.

• (2011 Mar 11) I updated my résumé on the homepage and removed the plug for the hobbies page.

• (2010 Aug 16) I added a Link in the Must See section to Meltup, about potential hyperinflation in the U.S., and I added a link to Prateek Puri's website in the People Links section but took down some dead links.
• (2010 Jul 16) I posted a derivation on my research page of a Fokker-Planck equation. I also added a link to a video about Human Rights (genital mutiliation and circumcision) on the Links page in the Activism section and a link to an interview with Milton Friedman in the Links:More Videos page.
• (2010 Jun 28) I updated my teaching page and added a couple links in the Humor/Fun Links section to chemical element songs.
• (2010 Jun 01) I posted an updated copy of my Gravito-electromagnetism (GEM) paper, with a new introduction, in my Academic Writings on the Projects:Education page. I took out some of the links to documentaries that I now find to be incorrect, questionable, or distracting, and I added a link in the Must See section to the documentary, Money, Banking, and the Federal Reserve.
• (2010 May 04) I posted a couple new papers on the Teaching page, one being notes on damped harmonic motion and the other being a problem on calculating the electric field of a plane of charge.
• (2010 Apr 26) I linked my physics thought on Understanding Space, Time, and Gravity in the Thoughts page to a blog version to enable commenting, and edited the thought a bit.
• (2010 Apr 14) I posted an eletter about aether and gravito-electromagnetism on the Thoughts page.
• (2010 Apr 13) I finally posted Chris's and my paper on our developing perspective of quantum field theory, titled variously "WTF is QFT?" (in abbreviated form) or "Free Quantum Field Theory of Scalar Particles" [pdf] in the Academic Writings section of the Projects:Education page. I also updated my Research page a bit.
• (2010 Mar 29) I updated my Teaching page.
• (2010 Mar 01) I added links in the Links:More Videos page to Milton Friedman - Why Drugs Should Be Legalized, and Ron Paul - interviews against warmongering and about what's wrong with the Fed.
• (2010 Feb 09) I posted my latest version of PhysNote on my Projects:Education page and added a Science link, "SI Guide", to the NIST Guide to the SI Units, on my Links page.
• (2009 Oct 05) I updated my Teaching page.
• (2009 Jun 16) I updated my Teaching page, and on the homepage I fixed broken links to my CERN lecture and updated my résumé to include my new office location.
• (2009 Apr 07) I updated my Teaching page.
• (2009 Apr 06) I added a link to Sean Salleh's website in the People section of the Links page, fixed some links, updated my résumé, and added a note on the Links page to bring attention to the More Videos page.
• (2009 Mar 17) I posted my updated résumé on the homepage (About:Myself).
• (2009 Mar 03) I added a link to a video about vortex-loop reconnection in the Research section. I added my business address to the homepage (About:Myself) and changed its formatting slightly.
• (2009 Jan 29) I updated the PhysNote LaTeX Resource and posted a new LaTeX Resource -- a pdflatex-compiling script, on the Projects:Education page.
• (2009 Jan 28) I updated my LaTeX Resource and Academic Writings (including the less-developed papers) on the Projects:Education page. I also turned the "Last updated" note at the bottom of the homepage into a link to this page.
• (2009 Jan 26) I added TA email addresses in the Resources section of the Teaching page.
• (2009 Jan 24) I added a link to Chris Martenson's Crash Course in the Must See "Combination" links and removed some of my old school links.
• (2009 Jan 05) I added a link to Ohanian's fundamental paper "What is Spin?", an outside source, in the Projects: Education section. I partially updated my Teaching page. I also fixed my website source code yesterday so that it is now HTML 4.01 Transitional again.
• (2009 Jan 01) I added another page of links called More Videos with Noam Chomsky, Milton Friedman, Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, and others.
• (2008 Dec 18) I added links to Gary's (my advisor's) websites in the Research section.
• (2008 Dec 06) I updated the paper about right hand rules and posted a paper on circuit "dividers" in the Teaching section. I also made things clearer by putting the papers in a table.
• (2008 Nov 24) I posted a paper about right hand rules in the Teaching section.
• (2008 Nov 09) I added to the homepage About section some links to the video of and slides from my lecture at the 2004 CERN Summer Student Lecture Program. I updated the My Computer Setup page found in the About, Hobbies, Computer section.
• (2008 Nov 08) I updated the homepage About section and the Research section, and I posted a paper on the use of Kirchhoff's circuit laws in the Teaching section.
• (2008 Oct 26) I posted an update of my Notes on Newtonian Mechanics in the Teaching section.
• (2008 Oct 23) I posted a paper in the Teaching section: a problem that came up in a review for a exam on the doppler effect.
• (2008 Sep 29) I added a link to Mindshare in the Social links, updated Erin Hennigan's link in the People links, and updated the Teaching page. I also changed the format of my dates.
• (2008 Jun 06) I posted some papers in the Teaching section: one review for a Physics 1B final exam and one set of notes on dipole potential energy.
• (2008 May 13) I gave the website an overhaul by using PHP to do server-side includes (SSI). So now I have my header and navigation bars in separate files and I don't have to change every file if I want to manipulate them. I also added/updated links to Loose Change: Final Cut and Zeitgiest: Final Edition in the Links section.
• (2008 May 04) I posted notes on Gauss's law in the Teaching section.
• (2008 Apr 06) I further updated my Teaching page, posted a paper on a pendulum collision problem, and added some free-tutoring links. I also posted my first Spring 2008 Lecture Notes along with an old article/lecture on the quantum harmonic oscillator in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section.
• (2008 Apr 05) I updated my Teaching page and my School Links, and I added a Random Link to an elephant painting.
• (2008 Apr 04) I posted the Bonus Lecture of the Winter 08 Lecture Notes and the Lecture Series Review in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section.
• (2008 Mar 25) I posted most of the remaining Winter 08 Lecture Notes in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section. I added a link to "What is a Particle?" in the Projects, Education, Outside Sources section.
• (2008 Feb 19) I posted two papers for my Physics 1C students in the Teaching section: one on a ray diagram problem and another on conventions for the mirror and lens equations. I added a link to OkCupid in my Social Links. I posted my Week 5 lecture in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section. (Lectures 3 and 4 will come out later.)
• (2008 Jan 30) I posted my Week 2 lecture in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section.
• (2008 Jan 26) I posted a paper on the Biot-Savart law in the Teaching section.
• (2008 Jan 23) I updated my Teaching page and the School section of my links, and I put my Winter 08 lecture material in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section.
• (2007 Oct 20) I added a link to a Ron Paul video in the Must See political links and a statement in my Thoughts section about my support for him for the U.S. presidency. I also added a few more outside sources to the Projects, Education section and a link to Project Gutenberg (ebooks).
• (2007 Oct 07) I initiated my Axiomatic Physics Derivation Database in the Projects, Education, Academic Writings section. With the help of Eric Angle, another typed-up exam is posted on the exam study material page.
• (2007 Oct 04) I added material and information to the Teach section and a Physical hobby on the Hobbies page in the About section. I updated my school (class) links.
• (2007 Sep 28) I created a new section for the website (Teaching), added some useful material to my Hobbies page under my computer setup, and slightly updated my homepage (About Myself page). I posted more typed-up exams on the exam study material page. I added links to Eric Angle's website, Physics 2000, and Live Physics.
• (2007 Aug 31) I added links to Meetup and Flex Your Power.
• (2007 Aug 25) I added a page of (PhD qualifying) exam study material linked in with the Education Projects. I also added my contact information in the About section and corrected some linking errors.
• (2007 Aug 17) I added links to and organized the Must See section.
• (2007 Aug 04) I added and updated some material to the "less developed papers" in my education project. Added: the miscellaneous "Comments on Mathematical Concepts and Notation" and an article on Waves. Updated: Analysis notes, Electrodynamics notes, etc. I added a couple more links to Chris Clark's resources. I also added some government links to representatives.
• (2007 Jul 03) I posted most of my academic writings (notes, outlines, derivations, etc.) and reorganized the Projects, Education section. I also noted the historical nature of the Weyburn Labs Project and officially added my CERN pictures to the Pictures section, simultaneously fixing up its navigation bar. Finally, I updated Eric's link.
• (2007 Apr 18) I added some new material in the Projects, Education section: student manuals for scanning probe microscopy from my days in Dr. Chuhee Kwon's lab at California State University, Long Beach.
• (2007 Mar 24) I added links in the Must See section that make arguments counter to those in the recently added banking and taxation videos.
• (2007 Mar 21) I added some Must See links about banking and taxation and a humorous link to "quantum finance".
• (2007 Mar 13) I added a link in the Tools (Resources) section: SAL (Scientific Applications on Linux). I fixed the Maxima link, added a couple School links, and a Random link. I also added my Gravito-Electromagnetism paper to the educational resources and updated the LaTeX resource, along with some other files.
• (2007 Jan 10) I posted a LaTeX resource in the Projects, Education section. I changed some of the quotes in my Thoughts page, added a link to "Cool Materials" in the Science category of Links, made the weather link bring up my local weather, and added some useful (for me) School links and Music links.
• (2007 Jan 05) I reworked the style sheet and surreptitiously deleted the break dancing material.
• (2006 Sep 22) I added a link to the newest version of Loose Change and a review for "An Inconvenient Truth". I've added a question to the education page and a link to the links page.
• (2006 Sep 06) I added links to Sponge Nebson's websites and the CRC Handbook of Physics and Chemistry. I added questions to the education section. I added a bit to the ambiguities in physics too.
• (2006 Jun 21) I've put some of my notes online in the Education section, and I added new links: the Edge Question Center, Physics Forums, Advanced Physics Forums, The Mechanical Universe, AddALL (Book Search and Price Comparison), and Annenberg Media (Learner.org). Also, I linked to the Graduate Resource Center on my Research page.
• (2006 May 19) I added some links to interviews with Feynman and Dyson in my Hobbies section. I've begun adding a little content in the Ambiguities article in the Education section, and I added some outside sources for articles. I've added a link to "Open EEG" and the "Astronomy Pic of the Day" in the Science category as well as MathPages to the Math category.
• (2006 May 03) I've added break dancing moves to my hobbies page and more details on upcoming articles in the education project section. There's also a new math link (+plus magazine).
• (2006 Apr 16) I added this "updates" page. I created a new style sheet to add more heirarchical structure to the site, although it's still a bit clumsy. I also added a link to John Walker's website (Fourmilab).
